Be careful if you post from New JErsey.

New Jersey is a shithole and you are ignorant for not seeing that. I would rather my kids score lower on the SATs, or earn less median income in a lower cost area, than live in a state focused on materialism and crankiness whose residents see interpersonal relationships as a means to an end.
NJ residents need a serious reality check. It would be interesting to see the suicide rate of the state, I'd bet its near the top (right below Nevada). It is probably certainly #1 when it comes to the death rate for cardiac arrest.
Jersey doesn't suck! Doctors suck, arena football sucks, running with a pebble in your shoe sucks, but not jersey.

Good try, you stupid douche (too poor, too stupid, and too lazy to live in the same as me).
http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9B06E4D7143DF936A35753C1A961958260New Jersey has the lowest suicide rate of any state, according to a recent study of mortality rates by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. New Jersey residents commit suicide at an annual rate of 6.8 for each 100,000 people, the study found, far below the rate in Nevada, the state with the highest rate at 22.2 per 100,000
NEW Jersey is the ARMPIT of the nation. It has the worst drivers and is the dirtiest state. So dirty that the grime even shows itself through there dismal liscence plate.
If you are an avid runner, triathlete - don't live in Jersey - its not the 1920's anymore!
The most superfund sites in the USA
New Jersey has the best public beaches in the country. Yes... the best public beaches in the country. It also has gorgeous rural areas, it has Cape May, and yes, the horsey set likes it. Hoboken is a nice compact little city and Jersey City has improved vastly. Okay, there's still Camden, but...you can't win them all.
As may have already been said here, the main reason New Jersey gets such a bad rap is because the New Jersey Turnpike was built through some of the most hideous parts of NJ or any other state, especially in Elizabeth and Newark. But that's better than having knocked down some of the nicest parts to make a big road, isn't it?
Top 5 in the country people!!!!!
N.J. in top 5 of most livable states
(New York-WABC, March 8, 2006) - New Jersey residents may bear the brunt of some jokes, but tonight they're having the last laugh.
The Garden State rounds out the top five most livable states in the country, according to an annual ranking based on 44 factors including economy, climate and high school graduation rate.
New Hampshire came in at number one for the third year in a row, followed by Minnesota, Iowa and Vermont.
Connecticut wasn't far behind, coming in at number 10.
New York, however, was a little farther down the list at 32.
ok, jersey having the best beaches is one of the most laughable things ive ever heard. has anybody up there ever been to the florida gulf coast, either the north or south carolina coast, places on georgias coast, so. cali's coast in spots...i could keep going and going, but this thing about jerseys beaches being the best is ridiculous. trails, and all that other stuff, fine, but NOT beaches.

Have you ever been to New Jersey? We do have some EXCELLENT beaches. I like California beaches, but New Jersey's are great in the summertime! I was very disapointed when I went to Santa Monica pier after seeing it so often on tv or in the movies. Come to the board walk in Seaside Heights, Atlantic City, or Wildwood and tell me they don't lie on some great beaches.
jboy,
So right. People are ignorant because they simply have not been there.
I spent many a beautiful summer day on the beaches of Pt. Pleasant, Bay Head, Seaside Park, and later many beaches of LBI, Avalon and Stone Harbor. No, there are no 50 mile sections of scenic sand dunes or rocks, but these beaches are the best on the east coast, save some places on the Outer Banks. A great place to grow up as a kid. GREAT.
Jersey Girls Ain't Trash. Trash Gets Picked Up.
I think that's great, please move back to Pennsylvania; because anyone from the NJ shore knows that the only reason the shore is populated in the summer is because of you polo wearing half-assed mennonnites that are desperate for some relief from that pathetic landlocked state. Happy trails and don't come back anytime soon!
Jersey beaches would be great if you could use them more than two months a year. The weather alone punts Jersey out of the top ten best states.
And you can quote SAT scores to me all day but if your reputation is for ignorance, well, reputation is pretty much reality.
Being a native of the Jersey Shore, I do not recommend running on the boardwalks as they are a bit crowded. If you do feel the need to run on one, run on the Spring Lake Boardwalk. It is much longer than others, but depending on the season, may be a bit crowded. If so, try running on it at night. Otherwise, try the many parks and trails in Monmouth and Ocean County. Among these are Holmdel-fantastic-make sure to veer off the cross country course as well-it is plenty hilly, the Manasquan Reservoir-5 miles around and very scenic-a great place for 10 milers, Ocean County Park, and many others-just search the park websites. There are plenty of trails, you just need to know where to go.

I've been two beaches on the gulf coast (St Pete's Beach) and North and South Carolina (Wilmington, Kiawah, and Charleston) and why i loved them all I still dream of the jersey shore (specifically Long Beach Island, Sea Isle City and Ocean City). There is no place I'd rather be on a summer day than the Jersey Shore. Consider this; you can stay in Sea Isle and enjoy the exceptional beaches and bars then take your kids to the Ocean City (#1 family beach resort in the US) and finally hit the casinos in AC. These towns are in close proximity and this scenario is extremely realistic although i realize you couldn't hit the wonderful bars of Sea Ilse if you were in AC at night.
One more thing... if you want to run on a boardwalk in the middle of a summer day i suggest Asbury Park... probably the only place that's possible.
I don't know where in PA you were looking for porkroll, but its sold in just about every supermarket in and around Philly that I've been in.
Agreed. NJ does suck. It is the leftiest of lefty cesspools and business and people are leaving enmasse from 2000 till 1st qtr 06'...now who is going to pay the bills for the corrupt gov't?
asshole cops, materialistic selfish people, rude assholes, pollution, the most corrupt government, tolls, the people, oh yeah did I mention how bad the people are, careless drivers, attitude everywhere you go, high taxes, highest car insurance, did i mention the people suck... I could go on for hours.
Anyone who likes NJ has never been anywhere else because everywhere else provides a better quality of life.
5th in SAT scores, just shows how worthless SAT scores really are.
