Jamin, you aren't Justyn Knight. He is a genetic freak. That's like a up and coming MMA fighter barely training ever, because that's what Jon Jones does.

The fact that he is a genetic freak does not contradict my point.
By your argument, how much faster would he be if he ran 100mpw?

You can't make rules from the exceptions. How fast will he be if he ups his mileage? From the interviews I've read from him, post college he has said that he will up his mileage. Except a sub 13 minute 5000m.
That is the opposite of evidence. Looking at an outcome and applying what 95% do to achieve it instead of what 5% do, is using evidence. 95% of the guys with Knight’s accomplishments run 85 MPW.

I think what he is saying is you should look at what 9 out of the top 10 sub elite runners are doing. Example:
Top 10 5000m runners of all time:
Pos Time Athlete Date Venue Ref
1 12:37.35 Kenenisa Bekele (ETH) 31 May 2004 Hengelo
2 12:39.36 Haile Gebrselassie (ETH) 13 June 1998 Helsinki
3 12:39.74 Daniel Komen (KEN) 22 August 1997 Brussels
4 12:43.02 Selemon Barega (ETH) 31 August 2018 Brussels [4]
5 12:45.82 Hagos Gebrhiwet (ETH) 31 August 2018 Brussels [5]
6 12:46.53 Eliud Kipchoge (KEN) 2 July 2004 Rome
7 12:46.79 Yomif Kejelcha (ETH) 31 August 2018 Brussels [6]
8 12:46.81 Dejen Gebremeskel (ETH) 6 July 2012 Paris [7]
9 12:47.04 Sileshi Sihine (ETH) 2 July 2004 Rome
10 12:48.64 Isaiah Kiplangat Koech (KEN) 6 July 2012 Paris
What was their training like?
Hi Jamin!
If or when Knight races sub-12:55 5000m, Knight will run about 100 miles a week to maximize his 5K ability.

The majority of people at his level found high mileage gave them large improvements. That doesnt mean high mileage is for everybody, it only means that the majority of people with elite talent need high mileage to unlock their best.
That doesnt mean there cant be a small number of elite runners on moderate mileage. Not every person is the same. More is not automatically better, but it pretty clearly is better for most elite level runners.
Gunder Hagg never ran more than about 20 miles per week
Mileage is overrated
Trump is a great president
Jamin deserves to be with a hot woman
I remember Bob Kennedy talking about increasing his mileage and he said- I'll never compete with the best if I'm running 80 mpw.
He increased and broke 13:00.

You are WRONG AGAIN!!!!!!
You need a real running education from a REALGenius®.
e.g.

1) .WoW = Wow.
2) Genius® = Genius®
3) Go Lord Weldon®!!!

Yeah, he was eons away from it.
I'd love to see a barely sub four guy from today race a mile on cinders with leather shoes though.
Say a guy like Gabe Jennings.

They'd run around 4:13-4:14
We've unfortunately been babied into this liberal way of thinking that "consistent mileage" and "moderate workouts" and "consistency over a long period of time" is the path to a successful running career. Most of this comes from Tinman who is not surprisingly funded primarily by the Clinton Campaign.
We need to go back to hard intervals on the track and hard, long runs from the Golden Years of USA distance running. Maybe then will our marathoners be competitive on the international stage.
he is not a genetic freak, he just does better off lower mileage...
