Is the Disney marathon friendly to competitive runners at all?
I ran the half at Disney wine and dine in November. My bib said elite so at the expo I asked what that meant and it means nothing. It is the same as corral 1.
Race started at 5:30. At 5:05 I tried to enter the corral. Corrals 1 and 2 were already closed. I had to enter corral 3 and then jump barriers with race officials telling at me and shove through 2 corrals of people to get to the start line.
All that to run a humid and warm race with a ton of sharp turns.
So is this marathon any better? I was honestly flabbergasted that someone would run a sub 2:20 at a Disney race and then they'd sign up to do it again the next year. Personally I have sworn off Disney races unless the intention is 100% casual run
