no one can get past her

They seemed impressed that Walmsley ran more than 4000 miles per year. Wonder how many Kipchoge ran.
that aint $hit
but seriously, sasha digiulian as the womens climbing representative when she's sport climbing 2 grades below the best woman? she's done 9a at best, which has now been downgraded to 8c+, and the fittest female climber is Angela Eiter who has done 9b. Not to mention the numerous hard ascents by female boulderers who doubtlessly put out more power than digiulian.
Also, on the men's side, Adam Ondra should have made the cut. He's the only one to have sent a 9c sport route, climbs at the top of the bouldering world having several 8c+ ascents. To put into perspective how insane sport climbing 9c is: Maybe 100 people have done 9b, 4 people have done 9b+, and one person has done 9c. It's like the jump from a 4 minute mile, which is maybe 9a+ (several hundred have done it) to a 3:26 1500. The gap is insane.

Hard to believe but they are still able to just make up sensational stories that aren't ever true but get idiots to read them. Making up stupid lists is another way to try to make money without actually doing any good reporting.
I also heard the young people (milinimals) don't like to read any article over two paragraphs long.

Golfer: joke
Gwen: Triathlete will always trump a runner in most people's view
Bile: absolutely fitter than anyone on the list
These lists are not about being right they are about giving exposure to the athletes

Reminds me when Hoch said he didn't need to go to the gym because he walks 18 holes a day.
Golfers don't belong in any list of fittest athletes.
It's an average of almost 77 miles per week. NUTS

That's not humanly possible.
I noticed that as well. I assume that *if* that number is accurate, there are *many* unreported miles. It also doesn't take into account altitude, pace, and very significantly in Walmsley's case, vertical gain. Leading up to UTMB, which ended up going poorly, Jim had multiple weeks if I recall of 150 miles and 50,000' of gain (often referred to as vert). Since vert has recently become so much a part of his training, it's a foolish metric to leave out.
Equally damning, they left out Kilian Jornet, who surely belongs on any such list (sharing from his Instagram account and edited for clarity).
Any runner who cares about “vert” has clearly never run under1:04 for the half

Does anybody exist outside USA/europe?
I would have liked to see an aussie rules player on there. An 80 minute game with 18 players a side and only 3 rotating subs and a pitch much bigger than a soccer field. The game requires a wide range of skills, strength, and fitness.
Where is Cristiano Ronaldo ? He would be fittest.
OK kill me. I have just realised he was 2nd on list.

I thought that crossfit athletes were the fittest athletes on earth so they should probably top the listings.
I can't believe that Amy Hughes didn't make this list.
they put Caldwell, Alex Honnold's friend on their list, but not Alex Honnold himself. This list is beyond terrible.
