It's hard to tell from the video, but it looks like he's put on more than a couple pounds. Hopefully he can shed it off before his next marathon.

Do you have body dysmorphia? You can't even tell his physique from that video. My questions are:
Will Alberto stop having him run on his toes?
Will Rupp do a fall marathon?
Will Rupp better his 2:06 PB?

He looks lean & mean to me...maybe you need glasses? ?
I’m not seeing a huge difference in weight. He’s not running so of course he could of gained a few lbs. when he starts training he will know how to get in shape. Not going to be a problem.
Aqua jogging is the most soul crushing activity I have ever participated in.
Agree. Aqua jogging sucks.
Yes but if it was a means to keep your high six figure (maybe seven figure?) job you'd probably find the will to slog through it.

I would put money Rupp getting the American record before he retires.

Yup, month 7 of aqua jogging for me after a popped lumbar disc.
Good to see my techniques about right. Not really a natural running motion, more like a continuous high knee drill, type of movement.
Not so bad if you break the monotony with timed tempos. But still mind numbing.
Something in his head allows him to complete incredibly boring workouts (20 miles on treadmill etc). Just how he’s wired I guess.
Would take Aqua jogging over the stationary bike 366/365 days out of the year. That thing sucks the life out of you.

WHAT DID YOU SAY?
Galen Rup is recovering from two partial tears to his Achilles tendon, according to Ken Goe of the Orgonian.
the tears are the result of "Haglund's Deformity" - a bony enlargement at the back of the heel bone that rubs against the Achilles tendon.
Rupp's surgical procedure was October 19, 2018. Only twelve days after his Chicago Marathon. , where he ran a 2:06:21
this marks the first major injury of Rupp's career.
When it comes to alternative methods of maintaining fitness Rupp is clearly all ears.
