And if the slobs complaining about overflowing trash barrels would take their own crap home with them, no one would notice the so-called shutdown. Federal employees dont accomplish anything for the 2 weeks around Christmas anyway.
Sad that a State agency can't operate without help form big daddy federal. But I guess that's why 600,000 of our citizens had to die in the war of succession. To make sure no State get's uppity ever again.
Pretty sh!tty situation....... wrote:
I had to take a dump at a trailhead (after running 3.5 hours) and the gov't locked up the crapper. If you lock up all the crappers, where do you think people are going to take a dump?
Doesn't seem very smart to me. What's the worst that can happen to a pit crapper in the middle of the woods? Even if somebody stole all the toilet paper, I had my own.
Find inspiration from the homeless of San Francisco and crap anywhere you want: Fishermens Wharf, Alcatraz, chinatown, Coit Tower, the Golden Gate Bridge, a cable car, ..Nancy Pelosi's front yard...be creative.
It's called federalism and we can operate without the federal grants, just leaves a big hole.
Hey man. Do yourself a favor and find something better to do than write like 10 responses in a row in the same thread.

I've considered your advise and here is my counter advise; I do what I want and you go cry about it.
Hi DiscoGary! Still making excuses for slavery huh?
Obviously you don't understand law and history--you just make things up to fit your twisted point of view.
btw, how's the militia going?

The crappy thing for most, if not all, of the people currently affected directly is that IF you need the money that bad it's going to be hard to "find" another job. Most employers, even for menial level jobs, are not going to hire you knowing this is probably short term and you could be gone the next day. Who is going to want to take the time and effort to train you, knowing this?
Really, your options would be picking up a part time side job driving for Uber/Lyft/Amazon, etc.
It's not an option to get another job in one's field anyways - in order to do that, I'm told one needs approval from the ethics office or equivalent. Which is closed right now, as non-essential.
Ethics are non-essential in the budget process, clearly.
I do hate it that individuals are not getting paid and left with much uncertainty, but our politicians on BOTH sides of the aisle don't really care about its citizens. They have agendas and are worried about their own jobs. The more intrusive the government is in our lives, the more we are affected. Less government is better.
The length of wall Trump is looking to add is very little when compared to the length of wall that already exists. Which sections Trump would add will hardly be a monument. Those that actually know, say that where he wants funds for the wall, it will help. But sadly, what this is all about on the D side, and to a large degree on the R side is who will get power in 2020. So once again, we see the primary focus of our our elected officials is to get or maintain power, and everything else comes in second or third. The fact that any member of Congress tells us they oppose something because they feel it would be poor use of taxpayer money is also a joke (note I am not singling out the Ds - the same would apply if the Rs said it). Can we also have a discussion on the rest of the budget then?
Giving the country to Putin will mean more government.
I get to hear sob stories about people who live paycheck to paycheck and dont have an emergency fund.
Waaaaaahhhh, I cant afford my rent or car payment, waaaaaaah, I cant get flute lessons for my kids, on and on.
I hope I sell more books this way.
Agree! In fact we should start investigating and prosecuting some of these federal employees for imposing rules and regulations that actually go against the natural laws that this country was founded upon.
Please tell me you don't have any money saved except for what you have put away in 401Ks. I can't believe how many people put every extra dime they have in a place where it will cost them money to access it. Unforeseen events do happen. The shutdown is not your fault, but not having a few months expenses saved in lieu of the 401Ks was imho a bad decision.
Right on! This is why we should never privatize social security. People don't save jack squat on their own. 50% of Americans cannot handle an unexpected $400 emergency expense.

I'm not disco Gary you moran. There can be more than one of us that has these views. Aren't liberals the ones saying there's a KKK white nationalist hiding under every rock?
No we can not have productive discussion on budget. We are spending like a drunken sailor and there is nothing anyone can do about it. All but a tiny group of politician are too terrified by the threat of not getting reelected to address the crisis.
Democracy is failing as it was always doomed to do. This is not a new concept, the ancient Greeks discuss the inevitable decay that happens in democracy. The more we push our government to be egalitarian and inclusive to every citizen the more rapidly it will fall apart. Pure democracy is just 2 wolves and 1 sheep voting on what to have for dinner. Our founders knew this, and tried to setup a Republic with balanced powers, but that balance didn't last long. It tipped toward Federal tyranny in the Civil War when 600,000 people died to secure the power of the Federal government. Republicans then pushed Federal tyranny during all the reconstruction years, and the Progressives took up the mantle in the Woodrow Wilson days. The balance is lost, catastrophic decay is inevitable. Both D and R now just play their roles, but it's all a charade. The problem is not that we have only a 2 party system. The problem is that we have a one party system where everyone bows down to the divine power of the State. Looking to our false god of democracy to solve all our problems and wipe away every tear. The Repubs pretend the best way to serve our State god is through a teeny tiny reduction in government size. The Democrats denounce the Repubs as heretics because they aren't willing to love the lord their State god with all their heart, soul, and mind. It's all a false system of idolatrous worship of the State. We just have disagreements about the best way to sacrifice our children to moloch.
It’s starting a discussion at least. There’s a sense of urgency because the traitors are going to try and bleed us dry.
