FYI for runners - Cipro appears to increase risk of Achilles tendon rupture. I'd look at a different antibiotic or suffering through a few days of TD rather than taking on that risk.
Unless you go to a doctor and have a lab analysis you don’t know if it’s a simple case of TD or a lethal dose of salmonella. When hiking in remote areas of India, Africa or Nepal I’d opt for the cipro over death in the third world.
A few days into my Egypt trip I caught something giving me, ahem, GI issues. I think it was the hotel salad bar. They must wash the greens in tap water and I can't imagine they'd use bottled water for that. I loaded up on leafy greens to avoid putting on weight with all this great food.
Thanks for the tip about the link between fluoroquinolones and tendinopathy! Will avoid. So I guess I will be intermittently fasting for a few days and only eat dinner, since I'll have ready access to a toilet in the evening. I hope that strategy works.
