Not to mention Hill and McGorty also have some very quick miles under their belt. I was digging and it turns out Derrick and Bumby actually have faster mile/1500 PRs than Kincaid, Scott, and Hughes, too.

Totally, I guess my thought was about whether it makes sense for him to train with guys whose focus is longer distances. But obviously it doesn't really matter, fast is fast and yes strength is speed. It's an exciting and potentially great move for him!

Marc Scott isn't in Bowerman yet he's in the photo.
If you're Centro and don't want to train by yourself you've only got a few options if you're a Nike athlete.
My apologies for the error. Can someone identify the men in the photo for me?
L To R
Thompson, Kincaid, Jager, Hill, Scott.

No more volunteering at UW then?
Probably had zero intention of being in Seattle beyond an indoor tune-up race at the most.
Powell's learned from the master of fake hype (Lanana) and attached his name as they start recruiting for their new program at UW.
But I don't see this move actually happening. Aside from jager (steeple), the rest of these guys are just old grinders. Centro is a ferrari!
Centro, Hyuga Endo, Ryan Hill, and Matt Hughes are tagged in the photo on IG.

Not to mention the most niche-minded within the niche, like why can't he train alongside of their group and still be OPJ affiliated? Outdoor Worlds are way later than usual this year. Any chance the training they're doing together isn't much different from what he'd do on his own right now? Especially if he isn't truly gearing up for an indoor campaign.
This and the Mary Cain thread make me mad. Fans of other sports love the novelty of seeing their favorite pros train alongside stars from other teams before the real season begins, but we just HAVE to make sure people aren't mixing it up with other groups at all times.
Anything else you'd like to whine about while we're here?

Old news bud. Better luck next time

True, but McGorty ran a 3:53 indoor mile under Miltenburg which converts to faster than his 3:36 1500m from last summer (which I would still give Miltenburg credit). Hill was also capable of 3:34 in college.
I would say people in the group who have ran fast 15's due to distinctly Shumacher's training would be of course Houlihan (3:57), Quigley (4:03), and Jager (3:32).
Centro could maybe run slightly faster (3:28 high - 3:29), but he was already training at such a high level with Salazar. The only benefit from BTC is that he has a bigger group to train with on a daily basis. At NOP, Murphy, Engles, and Jenkins went to Julian, Mo left, and Galen went to the marathon. He occasionally trained with Jenkins and Murphy, but not a ton. At UW, he only has Prakel.

Just letting you know, I loved this post. “Old news” is such an obnoxious response.

No. That's an old photo that is from February of 2018 that was just whoever was around that day. And someone accurately posted it to laugh at the guy who said that Marc Scott isn't in BTC when he has been for a year now.
The entire men's BTC crew including coach was at Duniway track in Portland yesterday doing hills and 200s and El Centro was NOT in attendance.
Why is that dude in the middle wearing a tuxedo?

You know who was the last American miler to move from Salazar to Schumacher? WEBB! American record in the mile will be Centro’s soon.
