In case you're still wondering, race coordinators are given limited bib numbers for both genders. It doesn't matter total field size, they are given what they are given. In Houston's case, their Elite field is very selective. Their ADP field is less selective and larger but still limited. In September of this year, they were at 95% capacity for the ADP field. And no offense, 64-mid will not make it in to the Elite field at Houston unless your marks at other distances warrant consideration. You simply asked too late for both fields as they already allocated available bibs. Even if you have faster marks than others in both fields, it doesn't matter, the bibs had been allocated. Advice, run a faster mark for next year or ask earlier for the ADP field for next year. ADP field accepts applications way early. Elite field, not as early, but again very selective (I know of a few 63-min guys that didn't make it in both this year and last year).
I asked for any entry at all. I was even willing to pay the entry fee. The "no spots left" argument is pretty hard to make in a field of 4,000.[/quote]
Bull crap, no way you go from 2:24 last may to 2:16 in december. Inam calling doped to the gills..you know you are ben f.
Super dope.

Work your ass off and maybe you'll see some results.
Haha, yeah ok buddy. If thats what you want to call it. Shitzy, ben f ran 2:24 toronto in may, 2:24 in chicago and then all of a sudden pops 2:16 in less then 8 weeks after that. Give me a break all signs of doping there.
More like it....truth hurts. Its ok.
Don’t know where this race in May comes from. Looks like the guy ran 2:26 at CIM in 2016, 2:24 in Toronto in 2017, 2:21 at Chicago in 2018, then 2:16 on the aided CIM course. Pretty normal progression.

It's a shame that they don't allow bid transfers as I'm registered for the half but injured and unable to run. I'd gladly give up my spot to you if they allowed it.
Robertson is not injured but has been sick since Dec 24. Just finished two weeks of antibiotics.

The elite coordinator isn't going to change her mind at this point and is probably pretty buried under a ton of work in anticipation of race day, so I wouldn't bother her again. It stinks to miss out on a race, but they really do a great job of trying to accommodate people. I have seen quite a few marginal candidates get into the ADP program (me included) when a request is made in a timely way. When I went back to the elite coordinator right after CIM to try to see if an athlete I coach could get into the full, they politely told me it was too late. She wasn't quite as good as OTQ dreamer, but she did have a good running resume (including a recent 16:35, which is pretty good for someone hoping to get into the women's ADP field).
I get the sense that ADP is first come first serve.
