This or nike streak 6 for tempos, intervals and fartleks.
Takumi Sen is definitely better for intervals and shorter road races, very grippy and light.
But I’d go streak for tempos and Fartleks. They’re more cushioned for all of the easy portions of a Fartlek and for your longer tempo days.
I personally wouldn’t use the Takumi Sen for a 6 mile training run, more of a switch into shoe for the track or race. I’ve worn them for a few 10ks and they held up, but my legs were a little beat up.
I wore them for a Half (1.21.06/ PB at age 52) but since then I've worn the Boston Boost and I don't think I'd go back to the Takumi over 21k now. They are very light obviously and you do start to notice the lack of cushioning. Depends on weight of the athlete too I guess.
Would you use the Takuki Sen over the Streak LT 3/4? I’ve worn the LT 4s for a 10k and felt fine, maybe a little bit more sore than with the Streak 6.
Have used both the Sen and LT 3(same as the LT4 pretty much). Definitely feel a lot more like I’m slapping the ground in the LT 3 and like they’re a little less stable. Much more ankle soreness in the LT3.
Don’t remember the exact numbers, but the Sen actually has a lower stack height but feels much more cushioned than the LT3 personally (boost?). Plus the stiff heel collar feels a little more stable.
Equally great shoes for track work, would choose the Sen everytime for a road race, especially a longer one.
