Honest question: has any average joe runner felt “washed up” because they didn’t achieve world class status or even top level d1 status? That’s setting the expectations bar pretty high for “bitter that you never made it”.

not me I'm just happy to win my age group and take home the occasional V.

I don't think anyone has been bitter in the posts. People are just calling it as they see it. That doesn't mean they want him to fail, just that they think he will.
Go back and read them. There's at least one poster with an axe to grind. His IP typically shows up in multiple posts on each Knudsen thread.

Knudsen is no equivalent to Cain - give me a break.
I reread them. If he runs well this year and people diss him as they do to say, Rupp, then I would agree. But if he is running poorly and people point that out and look for reasons, that is different.
How do you see someone's IP address? I post under various names but thought I was anonymous.
Oregon was 35th at nationals last year. A real powerhouse finishing right behind North Carolina and South Carolina. North Carolina has received some grief on here before but they beat Oregon.

Outside of like the top 7 or 8 at track nationals, the team scores are pretty meaningless. A team could easily get top 10 with just one person. Not at all a reflection of how good a team is top to bottom, although being so far off the podium does show that Oregon is far from what is once was. 15th in XC also wasn't great.
Oregon scored 8 while Georgia scored 52. What a joke for Oregon. And no, 1 guy isn't getting a team to 30 points which would have gotten them 7th.
Please remember saying this when Krahn whoops ass this spring. Came back from basically not running for a few years and finished 170th at NCAA's in cross ahead of names like Reed Brown and others.
What should be remembered, his times or that he is from MN? Seems like the person writing that wouldn't forget.

Huh? I admittedly have no idea who the third guy is, but I’ve seen Knudsen and Slagowski get trashed on here way more than Cain and Jenks.
Soren gets trashed no more on here than Natosha Rogers or Shea Anderson. What do they have in common? That's right, Instagram accounts. No Instagram account, no trashing - plain & simple.
Coach Thomas has cast his net wide - he is actively recruiting walk-ons.
Soren got rid of his instagram and hadn't used it for the last several months.
Hope he gets in consistent training. His abbreviated buildup last winter was okay then his 2x track session workouts were better. His ability to respond to this is just as if not more impressive.
It seems Oregon as a team has a few like this hopefully they'll all get it together for the basework off season if they do how far off would their 5 be from All American? If Oregon has 5 sub 13:55=XC All Americans?
If they have 5 guys go sub 13:55 this spring, they should be top 3 in XC. I doubt they will do that tough. I say they get on 3 guys sub 13:55 and Knudsen isn't one of them. Do we know if he is competing this spring or does he have a waiting period yet?
He has gone sub 13:55 already
Thousands of guys have run 13:55 but aren't doing it anymore.
Knudsen was and is overrated.

Lol a guy who ran 13:55 like 8 months ago as an 18-19 year old is a has been?
I doubt anyone is questioning his talent. But any reasonable person would question his dedication.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
