Nike Pegasus. I put a few 85-mile weeks, all on roads, and my legs felt awesome all the time.
Not the most inspiring ride, though, but great to accumulate miles.
I like Mizunos, too. The Sayonara 4 was my favorite trainer ever.
I'm on my first pair of Pegasus and all the aches and pains I had from my Saucony Rides are disappearing.
What Pegasus# 34?35?
I'm surprised no one has mentioned New Balance Beacon. These have a good stack, Medium drop 6mm and doesn't blow out @300miles(running only)
My history: was in Rider 18s developed some patella strain irritation increased squats/lunges(mostly bodyweight) went on to Brooks Ghost 10s felt better but would get occasional patella soreness between Ghost 10s went to Launch 2 (felt better) tried Skechers Ride 7 went from slight patella soreness to all over shin soreness also tried Clifton 3 which had the same all over soreness related to being too Soft.
For my higher volume Wide foot type I'm thankful for NB Wide option and how Beacon foam holds it's shape I rotate this with new Brooks Ricochet, Launch 6. Above all I think the "medium firm" for all the above mentioned shoes holds my form and the 6-8 drop allows me to recruit hip rotation moving stress away from Patella.
I have been intrigued by Topo but feel I do need some drop as I like to cycle and tend to feel a strain in hamstrings when going from lower drop to bike.
You have some options Nike's are on the firmer side but decide on your foot type for me that's where they're out unless you have narrow low volume. I'd visit your LRS and get runs on they're treadmill
