Hmmm. . . . so is also no such thing as a former winner of a race? Everyone's a winner. Everyone gets a medal.
You misunderstood the guy's post. He's not saying everyone's a winner. This is a standard motivational line for track (or other sports) teams at the start of a season:
"Okay everyone, here's a brain teaser. The modern Olympics started in 1896, and have taken place every four years. In total, how many former Olympians are there from [insert your country]?"
[everyone takes wild guesses]
"Wrong! There are zero former Olympians. There's no such thing as a *former* Olympian. Once you make the Olympics, you're an Olympian for the rest of your life. [etc. etc. etc. about the all the sacrifices being worthwhile so you should train really hard."
Pretty cheesy, but I have to admit it kind of stuck with me the first time I heard it. Probably helped that the person saying it was, in fact, an Olympian.
