Beginner runner here. I do realize that this forum is typically for better runners and not so much beginners, so I'm sorry if I am posting on the wrong forum but I thought it might give me better insight than the other site I'm aware of. I was decent at running in the past.. but only because I was an overall good athlete in good shape.
I'm 30 now, and have recently started running again. I bought Kinvaras because I used them in the past, but they just don't quite seem to be working for me anymore. Most likely because I don't have the flexibility or leg strength that I used to. I'm really feeling my hamstrings and calves tighten up when I am running and had some knee pain.
Is a slightly higher drop shoe something that could help me? Look for more cushioning? My running form is overall good I'd say, but I'm probably below average in strength. I'm not really asking about the "perfect shoe" to buy, as much as what I could maybe look for in a shoe that could get me running again relatively injury free as I strengthen up.
