If Maggie can't win it what will it take?
If Maggie can't win it what will it take?
Maggie was deserving, but please recall Orji should have won last year, King Ches lost three years straight. In other words, it is hard to win the Bowerman. I think Maggie just ran up against Orji at the wrong time.
For sure all three candidates are exceptionally qualified and all deserving winners. I was hoping Maggie would win though because she really got me into the throws this year
I became a fan of Ewen tonight.
But some years the Bowerman is just a tough award to win. I was honestly suprised Sydney didn't win. This may have been the most competitive class of nominees ever (women's side). Seriously, they left off Schweizer, and rightfully so.
To answer your question; most years I think a thrower would need 3 titles and 45 team points at indoor/outdoor to win. But a lot of it is timing.

If her coach hadn't changed her hammer technique prior to regionals.....
she would have won it. She was clearly uncomfortable with that change.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
