Usually I don't stretch, I'll just put on my shoes and go out and start slow for the first half mile to a mile and then work up to faster and faster, then about the half mile home I'll run slow to "cool down." But the weather's been cold and last week I strained my hamstring so I wonder if maybe I could be doing things better.. Do you do any stretches or warmups before all your runs? Or maybe you stop after a little bit and then do the stretches? or after or what? Really not sure. All I know about getting prepared for running is what they taught me back in school were the basic static stretches like reaching for your legs for 20 seconds..etc. and I read that's not good so I just haven't been doing any stretches at all. Also have a bit of a forward pelvic tilt, and shoulders get a little tense too.
