Hi, I'm doing a little shameless self promotion. This year I hired a guy to make a promo video for our cross country meet, the Hughson Supercross Invitational

That looks awesome! I want to go.
Nice, but how much did it cost you?

Nice grounds at your school!
You really need to embed bricks in the mud pit to trip up less coordinated runners, need to see people go down in that mud!
Course is beautiful
Mudpit is awesome
Music needs work. It would make a big difference.

I would think the drone would cost $500.
Congrats, looked like a lot of fun!

exactly my thoughts
signal cannon at the start
Nice job . Any plans to raise the bar next year ? Maybe crawl under barbed wire ?
My thoughts and questions:
1) decent video for 500 bucks
2) course looks decent, I like the use of the mud pit. Good variety for a high school meet, some nice challenging turns, flat grass sections, dirt hills section, etc.
3) My apologies that you live in an armpit part of the state.
4) did you know there are two meets with this same name? The other is in a different armpit in a different state.
5) why a freaking 4k???
6) somebody please tell that fat guy at the finish line to be less obnoxious

There’s a lot to unpack here ^
1. Because we’re a school, the drone guy cut us a break. He would have charged 1000
2. Thank you. The sports fields adjacent to our stadium were fundraised for. The Arboretum adjacent to those fields was the life’s work of an old walnut farmer and his wife.
3. Thanks for the apology? It’s really only bad in the summer.
4. I didn’t know about the other meet.
5. 4K because in our area, frosh Soph kids run 2 miles and varsity runs 5k. This meet is late season and it gives me a chance to see all my athletes compete over the same distance. Plus, we don’t have a ton of land to work with. There are a ton of turns and switch backs just to get to 4K.
6. We had a finish banner. My peeps couldn’t get it to stay up. Apparently someone decided at the finish line that having Gordon wave his arm was a good signal. That guy is one of the best people you’ll ever meet, though.
Great vid! I would have loved this when I was in HS. It's nice to see a change in courses that's not the Woodbridge variety.
I still find it funny that in the northern parts of the state that 2M is being raced for FR/SO.
I hope you can attract more teams to make the trip from LA or the Bay Area, or possibly Sacramento.
Great job.
More cowbell!
:)
Anyone else think this course was 4.5km?

What makes you say that? The times? The course is flat, but not fast. The kid that won in 13:01 is pretty good. I had a kid who was a 9:37 2 miler go 13:18 on that course.
