Alright I’m going into my senior year of track and I need to break out. It’s my last chance and I gotta do it there’s no other option. I’m shooting for 4:30 in the mile and 2 flat in the 800. Last year I did 2:07 and 4:52 and this last cross country season I managed to run a 16:54 5k at regions.
I’ve winter to prepare and I run about 40 to 50 minutes a day depending on the hard workout I did the day before at about 6:50 to 7:20 pace. One day a week I do a hour long run going the same pace. Finally, two days a week are hard days my coach gives me.
I’ve gotta hit 2 flat for the 4x800, my team has a really good shot at winning states if I can do it and I can’t let them down. I want to be the best miler on my team for the sole reason of I know I can do it.
I’ve been drinking protein shakes daily and doing core excerices, I’m up to a 2 and a half minute plank now. I’ve been doing everything I can to grow. If you all have any advice or tips please let me know.
