Would they be in top 10?
Would they be in top 10?
26:17 for the win.
1, 2, 250, 251, 252
756 points - DFL
Bekele and Pre could go 1-2
Brojo in 28:00 shape would probably be top 10
Assuming Flagpole could get around 100th in his prime and jamin around 200th
That adds up to low 300's which should be comfortably in the top 10 teams

Is the Kennster allowed to carry Jamin and/or Flagpole for the first few Ks? If so, that could be a podium team.
In seriousness, you have the winner, and guys doing high 27 (pre) and low 28 (wejo) on the track - that's a pretty good team!

Prefontaine could for sure run 27:30 with today’s shoes and tracks.
Let me correct myself. Prefontaine ran 27:43.6 on a windy day solo almost from the start. Prefontaine could run 27:20 with pacing to 5000m and today’s shoes and tracks.
Jamin's knees would be too sore to run.

You think Flagpole could get 100th? That's a 30 minute 10K, on an XC course. I don't think he was ever that fast, but he could tell us. Probably add a hundred places?
I'm guessing it's more like 450. That puts them in 18th place. Not bad.

I know, lol! Flagpole was a mediocre HS runner who "in his prime" ran a 5k road pr (according to him, probably short course) of just around 15:00. Maybe just barely under 15:00. On a hilly x-c 10k course, I doubt he would broken 33. Jamin.....fuhgeddaboutit.
So......
You have Bekele 1, Pre 2, Wejo top 5 (he was 4th at USA's twice for 10k on the track I think). So a super stout top 3. But then FPW and jamin would would both come in DFL, probably holding hands. How many runners run the race? However many that is, put them at the very, very, end of the pack.
just the facts ma'am wrote:
