Great! So we can now add another marathon to the race name. It’s now OFFICIALLY the Snickers Marathon Marathon Marathon Marathon Marathon. The race shirts will look great! Let’s make this happen!

If a cable television channel bought the exclusive rights to rebroadcast it on an endless loop it could be called the Snickers Marathon Marathon Marathon Marathon Marathon Marathon.

Ted, you’re a genius.
There's a Marathon, Ontario (northern Ontario) in Canada.
There was a marathon called the American Odyssey in the 1980s, which began in Marathon, WI and ended in Athens, WI. That's as close to the original as you can get in the U.S.
Marathon, TX is at about 4,000 ft above sea level. That makes it the best city in the US for marathon training that is named "Marathon".

There should be a Snickers Marathon Marathon Marathon Marathon Marathon in every city named Marathon. This race series will be bigger than the Rock and Roll marathons!

There is a town in upstate New York called Marathon and it is the home of Erik Van Ingen. I don't know how this is news.

Hold everything. We might have a permitting issue.

I think we’ll be fine. The RW article says: “This year, citing traffic concerns during the region’s peak tourism months, the sheriff asked the county commission to vote on the issue.”
We’ll just have the Snickers Marathon Marathon Marathon Marathon Marathon during a non-touristy time of year. It looks like there’s the least tourists during September.
https://fvrma.wildapricot.org/resources/Documents/tourismbynumbers.pdfSo it should be no problem getting a permit for the Snickers Marathon Marathon Marathon Marathon Marathon if it’s in September.
Fun fact, in Ancient Greece, the word for "fennel" is (roughly) marathon. Like, there was historically lots of fennel growing by the historical town of Marathon. All this training, all this mythologizing, all the great jokes here... and we're all talking about fennel.
And they mocked Sage Canaday for being named after an herb! Wow! By the way, there’s got to be several Basils that run well.

The Florida town took its name from the 7-mile bridge there: building it was going to be a marathon. Approximately 1906, only about ten years after the first modern olympics popularized the term.
I ran a non-marathon across the Marathon 7-mile bridge. It should have been called the Non-Marathon in Marathon.

You won't believe how marathon got its name. Hint: City in Greece.
The proper name is Μαραθώνας (transliteration: Marathónas). Someone decided long ago to chop the 'as' off the back end.

Basil Heatley (GBR) held the world record for the marathon at the time of the 1964 olympics. Abebe Bikila (ETH) broke the record in winning gold and Heatley was 2nd.
Thanks! I will inform the anti-herb faction on the “Follow Camille WR” thread.

I put basil on my pizza at Marathon Pizza and later got the runs.
