Together with three other guys (all 30-35 years old) we have started training again with the aim of running a 10K by the end of March 2019. We all have sports/running backgrounds (although a while ago) and are quite fit. Time is a problem though as we are limited to 3 sessions per week due to work, families etc.
In 2017 we ran a 10 mile race in between 62 and 66 minutes. Before this race, we trained for several weeks (although not very consistently) with three sessions per week. Our favourite session was a progressive run of 45 to 60min: starting slow and building up to a fast pace in the last 10 to 15 minutes. Our longest run was about 75 minutes.
This was all not very scientifically.
We are now wondering what the best training schedule / type of sessions would be (given our time constraints) to run a fast 10K. We would be happy with a time of around 35-36 minutes.
Any advice is very much appreciated. If more information is required, please let me know.
Thanks in advance!!
