I have had a collection of tendon injuries in my right foot since mid-October (achilles tendonosis, peroneal tendonitis, achilles bursitis) and have taken the past two weeks off of running impact to let it heal as they were also our assigned rest period after xc season ended. I've been using the elliptical and started lifting to get used to some of the moves before our actual regimen starts for track. I haven't had pain since the Monday before last (only two days into my rest period), but I have felt that something still just isn't right with it. I've been working with a physical therapist to adapt my running technique since I have a lot of imbalances, and I really want to start easing into running again. I'm just terrified that the pain will come back and I'll have to take time off and be stuck in this cycle of repeating injury. Does anyone have any advice, or has been through this problem before? Also, any tips on learning to run lighter on your feet? I land with a really obvious loud/hard impact that my coaches/PT have all advised against but no matter how hard I try I just can't change it.
