Bite me.
You don't get to decide what I post on here. I'm just getting started on Petros. I am relentless, so don't waste your time challenging me.
Go ahead and tell us all the bad things about Petros then. And tell us how you know.
Nice piece by Hall with a window into the highest level of college track. Texas will be just the same. Even if they sold you on the opposite. All the top teams opporate in this way. A product of ADs hiring hardnose football type coaches for every sport. Floreal wants to win and he's being paid a LOT to get it done. Only difference is Texas is not where Georgia is right now. Tara will be one of few super stars on the team. She'll be expected to perform.
Move on dude.
She proceeds to trash everything about college athletics and then goes on to say that it was one of the greatest experiences of her life. Is she freakin crazy? My experience in college athletics was amazing and I would do anything to go repeat that experience.
Does she expect no pressure? The ONLY thing there that was slightly wrong was coaches talking behind her back questioning everything. With that being said, a HUGE percentage of college athletes lie about what they did when they werenot with the coaches so I also understand a coach trying to figure out the truth.
At the end of the day, there are MANY college programs that are low stress. She is truly an idiot if she thinks that going to Petros to Edrick is going to be a dream - out of the frying pan, into the fire! She trashes a cutthroat program then goes to one that is perhaps worse when she could have gotten a full scholarship to go to a chill place. She has lost it.
Note to college athletes and young people with minimal life experience - when you want the rolls royce, you pay for the rolls royce. Don't expect to go to the programs that give you everything and expect no pressure. Don't expect to go to a high paying job and expect no stress. You are completely delusional if that is an expectation.
Tara, you should have just gone to a low stress school with low expectations. The whining is a huge turnoff. You may be a great athlete but you come off as a whiny baby. Who would want to hire you? No one with college athletics experience because they likely would be jealous that you got everything and still complained. Her website is a huge eye opener to what our younger generation is like. It is sad and scary. Good luck at Texas. Get back on that portal and move on to Sam Houston State because you are about to get hit with a huge does of reality. Edrick is smart so he will squeeze that pressure down over time until you don't know what hit you but don't you worry - it will be there!

Hall quit Iowa State and Georgia. Those schools and coaches weren't the problem. Hall was the problem.
The post about college athletics is dumb. typical millenial. sad to see a national champion making BS excuses for her failures - of course it's everyone fault but her own.
Wow. For as much as you guys throw the "diva" comments at her, you guys have spent 20+ pages berating this person. I swear, you guys are the biggest babies yourselves and complain endlessly about someone who made a decision to transfer. Leave it alone.

It's not about Tara, it's about the rules. She agreed to take a full scholarship in order to compete in the NCAA and agreed to abide by the NCAA rules. She signed all the NCAA paperwork. It's foolish to complain about the rules you agreed to play by. It's like complaining about not being able to use your hands in soccer.

Nina Schultz transferring from K-State to Georgia... and is sitting out a year.
No drama. No complaints or impassioned pleas to social media. Well done, Nina!
EVERYONE PLEASE READ THIS!
The NCAA transfer rules exist because they did research that shows transfers are less likely to graduate. The NCAA is rightfully more concerned with athletes graduating than their athletics. Researchers outside of the NCAA have found the same thing.
Take a look this:
https://web1.ncaa.org/GRO/pages/pdf/report_facilitate.pdf
Category 3: Transfer Status: A substantial body of NCAA research indicates that Division I
student-athletes who transfer significantly increase their risk of not graduating. This effect is
independent of academic preparation, although it may be exacerbated among underprepared
students. The transfer effect may relate to a number of factors, including the loss of credits on
transfer and lower feelings of engagement and/or community. NCAA research indicates that this
effect is independent of whether the originating institution is a two- or four-year college.
Even after controlling for academic characteristics and a limited set of demographic variables,
student-athletes transferring into a Division I institution are more likely to depart the institution
as "0/2." Thus, any student-athlete transferring into the certifying institution should have an
additional point added to his or her overall risk score
and
Category 3: Transfer Status: Research indicates the act of transferring increases the length of
time to graduation by approximately seven months. The longer a student remains separated from
continuous enrollment, the greater the likelihood the student-athlete will not earn his or her fouryear degree. Given that higher retention losses are seen among Division I transfer studentathletes even several years after entry into the receiving school, it is suggested that this factor
remain as a contribution of one point to the total.
The purpose of the sit-out rule is twofold: it reduces the number of people who would transfer and the people who do transfer have a year to focus on academics to help ensure they will graduate. So to everyone complaining, please shut up because the NCAA actually knows what is best for the student-athletes and they are looking out for them.

Nor did the K state coach tweet where she was going before the decision was made.

The rules also allow you to appeal the decision. Decision being the key word here.
Anyone on this blog would appeal a decision that is not in their favor. Especially when it is part of the process. All of this was blown out of portion when the coach tweeted out information that wasn’t true at the time nor his place to announce.

Maybe Nina was not a diva while on the team, maybe she has class and acted responsibly and thus was treated that way.

KState coach made it sound as though she's a psychological case study....should fit right in at UGA.

Get over the tweet already. She had signed a scholarship agreement with Texas so the coach made the announcement. Did she ever reject that scholarship agreement or sign one for another school? Tara did end up going to Texas, her "dream school" so she got to go where she wanted.
Petros' tweet is not a reason for Tara to be released. Coaches are allowed to make announcements about changes to their roster in whatever way they want. The NCAA rule on transfers still applies. Tara is not entitled to anything.
I blame the parents.
