He ran 2:19:16. Well done! Results are here:
56 y.o. guy ran 2:17 on that course??
I doubt it.

Do you think the lack of a single split is a clue?
Probably a clueless visitor who DNS and then got too close to the finish line
Looks like Cabral got third in the M15-19 age group. So he'll get a trophy to take home.

Guy who won ran it in 1 second. Now THAT is flying!
2:19.xx Marathon would be good for a low mileage 800m specialist. Don't 3000mSC guys run app. (90 to 110) miles per week?
Hard to read into times too much in this marathon. Looks like he probably ran alone most of the way. Why he didn't run CIM last weekend I don't know especially with multiple college teammates there. Stilin was 4th in 2:13:20ish, I reckon Donn would have been there or thereabouts in that race.
Well done. What? wrote:

Do you know where Honolulu is and what the weather is like there, without fail, predictably, all the time?
Do you have any idea in turn how different weather conditions affect marathon performance?

Maybe he doesn't own skis?
there was supposedly heavy headwinds, they were commenting on how amazing the winning time was and how close to the course record despite the winds
do you think the usatf otq committee will give him the 16 seconds?
will be bother to petition? I think he should, free ride to atlanta
with a time like that though he could do a better race before 2020, great job either way

Yes, time on this course is probably 3 minutes or faster on a flatter course. Today was probably just greasing the groves to see how he liked the marathon.
Ugh, just missed a Trials qualifier.
He should be able to do a 2:16 or so at a spring marathon this spring. Today he was just probably seeing how he did at the distance. Would not be surprised if he ends up running a 2:08 marathon.
Exactly, this is a very challenging and tough course. At a minimum people run 3 minutes slower, most 5 minutes or so depending on the day.
