Hey I am trying to break 10 minutes in the 3200 for my first race in march on a 300 meter track indoors. this summer I ran 460 ish miles lots of doubles and lots of crappy miles with lots of pauses due to food issues and other problems. I had done zero tempo runs workouts or any other kind of running only long slow stuff. I also lifted in the mornings. that season I had run a 17:27 on a fairly rough course (a 16:19 kid ran 16:40) after that race lots of rain and cancelled meets later ( a whole month of no meets and easy practices and little to no mileage) I ran a 17:50 at districts qualified for state and ran a 17:29 at the state meet (I did this with bad splits 5:03 mile 10:45 2 mile) I think I am sub 17 capable if I hadn't missed meets and if I would have raced smart. this winter I have gotten in 4 weeks of training so far and am still going I have been much better and way more consistant running a weeks at 50,40,51 and 60 this week will hit 50 again and I have done 2 tempo runs so far at 18:00 and 17:33 3 mile tempos. what should I build my mileage to to hit 10 in march and what how many tempos should I do and what should my workouts look like I really want to hit my goal thanks.
