I recently ran a 27 flat 200 off of absolutely no speed training. I’ve also done a 5x200 workout in 27.5-28 average with about 5 min rest.
How is my natural speed? Am I too slow for mid d?
Thx

You've got lots of work to do, but not a lost cause. If you've got really good endurance, maybe you could run 2:08 or 2:10. Assuming you could run a 60/61 and hold onto a 68/69.
I'd say try running longer intervals and increasing mileage a little bit just to get better at running in general and your top end speed will go down a little bit, but you'll have to do some weight lifting and explosive plyos if you really want to be fast at mid-d.
Not at all. Middle Distance is still "distance".
If you've really done zero speed training that is pretty good. I'm assuming you run a lot of aerobic work?
With all due respect, I disagree with the poster above. I think you could easily run much faster than 2:08 with 27 flat speed, assuming you're aerobically trained. Especially since I'm sure you could improve upon that 200m time significantly.

He should be able to run faster than that if distance oriented. I can only run a 29 but can come back for a 61 400 and a 2:10 800m, with a lot less explosive speed.
