No way. There are very few people who play other sports, even elite ones, who can run a 15:30 5k (unless it's triathlon). Many decathletes only run that pace for 1500. Most modern pentathletes don't run much faster than that pace. These are profesionals who are actually training for running (at least part of the time). If he's a good cyclist or cross-country skier or something like that maybe he'd make it a mile and a half. I'm sure lots of them could do 17 minutes, but 15:30 takes more than just general aerobic ability.
