So, my wife & I had a college student (home from college) watch our house while we were on vacation this summer. Last night, I went to get some whiskey (for the first time since we've been back) & noticed one of our bottles of whiskey is near empty. (It was one of the bottles way in the back behind the other ones.) Obviously, I don't really drink whiskey too often.
I would really, really like to believe our housesitter didn't drink or take the whiskey, but we can't think of any other solution. (There's so much missing she would have to had to fill a water bottle; there's no way she could have drank that much.)
We really like the housesitter & really consider her almost like a daughter. She's really nerdy & would never have thought she would have done this.
I know this sounds like we're gullible. It's interesting that she didn't take any of our rare beer bottles (bombers, 750ML). Meanwhile, she took some good whiskey too, not the cheap stuff either (Springbank Whiskey). My wife says we don't say anything to our housesitter & just let it go. I'm not mad, per se, just really surprised.
What would you do?
