She would have placed 151st, out of the 203 finishers.

I agree she does look bigger this year - not "big" - just not as lean. She also seemed to be laboring in the 3rd mile today. Granted, off by herself, but in the interviews she did say she was tiring and was a little concerned when she say Chmiel was not that far back.
Nice of you to step up and compliment Covert - she did run very well. And now of course we hear *crickets* from those saying Covert would be the winner!

167 speed rating.... Looks a lot heavier and less smooth then 2 months ago. I know she won but she’s dropped a lot guys, let’s not overlook that
Oh Dear, some of you just like to hear yourselves talk. That's absolutely ridiculous on too many levels to explain. Give it a rest Fact Man!

Ummmm...yeah, she was tiring, she was racing and should be tired. Don't let the smile at the finish line fool you. Going out in 5:04 is taxing or she'd have run that pace the whole way! Some of you guys, geez!
She was under the weather all week but felt obligated to compete anyway. She will be 100% next week. Covert will ultimately be the most accomplished runner, from the race today, when she finishes her career.

No, she couldn't have been under the weather all week, no one gets sick or has set backs but KT? It's not possible.
Covert will be ready to smash the course record next week at the real national meet. Today was just a pre-meet warmup for her.

Obviously respect to all competitors, especially Tuohy and Chmiel. Covert didn't have her best day, as she beat Ewert by 10 sec at FLMW so probably could've gone with Chmiel. I still think Covert's the favorite for foot locker.
Just saw that Chmiel will be attending North Carolina State next year. I’ll admit to not being knowledgeable about the college scene, but that struck me as...not as impressive as I’d expect the (arguably) best senior girl in the country to attend.

My oversight on Covert winning Heartland............
No, it's called bias and ignorance on the sport. You're welcome.
Both men and women placed top 15 at nationals this year. One of the top XC programs right now and probably offered her more than some other programs makes it an easy decision.

Sorry you can’t handle the truth.
By the speed ratings Covert ran what she did at FLMW but Ewert improved hence the flip of order. But agree if they both run as well next week they will be in top 3-4, maybe 1-2. and since I try to be fair, I don't think you were insisting Covert would be the winner as some other non-registered posters were.
No, it was just a brain cramp on my part where I thought she was in Midwest and saw she did not run there...call that ignorance if you want but it was not bias. But unlike most here, I admit mistakes.
NC State has a very good program and it's not difficult to get admitted, most of the power programs are relatively easy to get admitted too...a student also has to be able to pay whatever freight the scholarship doesn't cover...3 boxes need to be checked..times, grades/scores, finances

It’s about split in the power programs. ND and Stanford are highly selective. But you are probably referring to Colorado, Boise, and New Mexico. Michigan is relatively tough. Wisconsin is in between. Iowa State is pretty easy. BYU is relatively tough.
Tuohey pulled away on every split in this race, yet you guys keep looking for something to temper your jealousy .
Get your own life instead of trying to piss on her's. She is a great high school runner, who has a long way to go and is prepared to take the step.
Covert is the best. Just an off week, under the weather. Expect great things next week and Olympic trials in 2 years blowing Tuohy away.
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
