Never heard of this brand, but I can get a pair for $70 due to a contact I have at a LRS. Anyone have any other experience? Review seems to be mixed.

Legit and great shoes if you find the pair that works for you.

Are these widely available in the US? I like the look a lot, and need a lightweight trainer.
Named after this guy. Former NHL ultra badass player. Not many guys look like this when they´re 65 years old.
There are legit in the sense of name and running production. They have been making shoes for awhile, and they are all quality.
However, their shoes have size issues. They run big, so I would advise those interested in buying a pair of their shoes to size down by half a size.
Secondly, even though their shoes are illustrated as being light in weight, I still find them to be clunky. I actually think that has to do with the sizing being off, and not the actual weight of the shoe. Also, they just don't feel like a running shoe. Again, they are made with great quality, but the feel and ride just didn't feel right.
The only shoes that I have tried were the Salming Speed, and that was version 3. They now have the Speed 6, a shoe that I have yet to try. So they could have improved upon the ride and feel of the shoe.
The Distance do look very interesting, because I prefer light, standard trainers to do long runs in, and just for training in general. I don't like to run in anything heavier then 9oz, so I might check them out. However, just by looking at them, they just don't look like a running shoe, more like a cross trainer.
Distance is Salming´s best running shoe, by far.
Certainly agreed on running large across the board. I’m a fan of the Miles Lite and would be interested to try the Distance 6. To the weight - maybe Salming would be better dropping the “Lite” here. It’s not a heavy shoe, necessarily - but not one I would advertise as being particularly light, either.
I think their main market is squash.
There's some people I see use them at my gym for 'working out' but there's also squash at my gym so probably why they have them. And I don't see those who are using it on the treadmill.
Legit. Take it from a swede. They've been at it since 2001 and they've learned and adjusted the shoes. I personally don't run in them, but have done. Size can be an issue. Runs wide. Otherwise, good lightweight running shoe. I'd stick with speed, not the others.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?

Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
Red Bull (who sponsors Mondo) calls Mondo the pole vaulting Usain Bolt. Is that a fair comparison?
