How do they not give us the mile split? NEver mentioned in either race.
Reports are that Colorado men have in top 10 as does NAU.
Because the race is in kilometers

NAU has a 3.3 second spread between and 1 and 6 at 4k. 6th guy is 31st. This baby is OVER!!!
They updated the scores. 52 to 122.
NAU 52, Portland 122, BYU 149 at 4k. But BYU's #2 is behind NAU's #6.
It's commonly known nothing changes between the 4k and 10k mark of a x-country race.
WAAAYYYY early to be flipping out
the live scoring is very cool if you aren't looking at it - it fills in in real time the team points scoring.
it crashed in the womens race tho
The 4k split was actually at 4.1k, so pace is steadier than it may appear.

Only way that anyone else wins is an expect collapse by NAU and the classic final 2k surge from one of the chase teams.
Joe Klecker baby! This could happen!!!
Lead pack through 6k in ~17:35
Baxter has been dropped. He' s off the lead pack and now is NAU's #3.
Klecker is leading with Mantz. Rwanda guy and Day.
What length spikes are they using in these conditions?

7 inches.
Grijalva is ahead of Baxter! albeit they are side by side, but would expect him beside Day instead
At 6k, BYU has gained slightly from 149 to 133 points, and NAU has lost 10 points to 62.

LOL!!!!!
Unsurprisingly, this looks like NAU's race to lose. 6 in the top 32 and all in contact with each other at 6k.
Klecker is going most of the work. Mantz right with him. Day . Those three have been up front the whole time. FIsher and McDonald are just sitting in the pack.

Baxter could completely tank and NAU could still win.
