Was wondering what each one is best for and the similarities and differences on them.

Mamba V. Don't even waste your time with anything else.

What makes them better than the others? Are they really light or comfortable?
I have the Adidas Avanti and want something for 800-1600, is the Mamba V better than the victory 3? Even for speed stuff?

Hands down, the mamba V is your answer for 800-3k. It has the feel of the original victory plate, coupled with an upper that is even more comfortable and form fitting than the Victory 3. Nike has reached the pinnacle of mid distance track spikes right here. Total home run.
Damn, sounds good. Just a question, could it work for a 10k even? If so that would basically make both the vic and matumbos obsolete.

Would highly recommend NOT wearing for anything over 3k, unless you're crazy light.
Ive heard the Victory 3 could be used for 5k, is the mamba 5 less cushioned?
The Nike Zoom Matumbo 3 will provide more cushion underfoot along with more support for an inherently stable ride. This spike is intended for races ranging from 5k-10k. It will be the least aggressive from the bunch.
The Nike Zoom Victory Elite 2 is built with a Carbon Fiber shank for increased torsional rigidity (which makes shoe springier). This shoe offers very little midsole with an aggressive "Sharkskin" pattern for extra grip around the turns. This spike is intended for distances ranging from 800m to 1500m.
Nike Zoom Victory 3 is pretty much the same as the Nike Zoom Victory Elite 2, but does not contain a carbon fiber shank. It has a pebax shank for a more flexible ride than the Victory Elite 2.
The Nike Mamba V is built to be a "fast shoe" before a steeple according the lead nike designer, Elliot Heath. They utilized a similar spike construction to the original Nike Zoom Victory shoe, but tweaked the upper to ensure that the material is as minimal as possible. It is supposed to keep form and fit when wet for the steeple chase. It is also the lightest shoe on the market.
hope this helps
Do not waste you money on shitty nike spikes
1) They are Overpriced
2) The are low quality
3) Long Term performance is poor
The victory model spike plate looks like swiss cheese, a terrible design
Matumbo is the same thing, with swiss cheese only on the outside of the shoe
The mamba looks like the most viable option, but at $125, its probably not going to work very well either.
If you really wanna fly, the NB MD 800 or LD 5000 (version 5) is the way to go.

That's crazy saying almost every elite distance runner uses Nike spikes, NB spikes are 5$ less than Nike's spikes, and wtf does them "looking like Swiss cheese" have to do with performance, the NB spikes look just as much like Swiss cheese as the Nike ones.
Ld5k was good but NB just kept putting too much plastic on the bottom and now it's just too heavy for the amount of cushioning it provides.
Does the mamba have a carbon shank though? Would you say it's as flexible as the Vic 3 or the Vic 2 Elites?
Mamba does not have a cf shank, more flexible than victories but stiffer and with more pop than matumbos. Also it's the lightest nike spike
