If it wasn't banned, he wasn't breaking any rules. He wasn't doing anything wrong. Athletes back in the 30s, 50s and 60s used amphetamines quite regularly.

When you are on the frontier of science and in New territory of research the line of what is wrong and right is really blurry.
Viren has consistently denied blood doping, if I'm not mistaken. Even turned down a million bucks from a German magazine to say otherwise.
The "reindeer milk" thing was simply a joke aimed at dumbarse reporters.
Which other dumbarse types have misinterpreted throughout the years.
