Behemoth had their best release in 2014 with The Satanist. It's still plenty fast and aggressive, however there are some actual melodies involved and the production is cleaner than in the past. Not as gritty might be the right statement. That said, the title is a bit goofy I have to say. I'm 45 years old and long past that sort of thing (I'm not religious in the least, it's strictly about the goofy image).
Their latest release just came out maybe 6 weeks ago? It's called I love you at your darkest, and for me, it has not grabbed me in the least. I believe Nergal is trying to capture the lightning in a bottle that he caught the last time, and this release has fallen flat and sounds derivative, not creative.
