Finntroll, and nothing else.

That's my style. Nice.
Anyone like Mgla or Agalloch?
I grew up on a lot of Christian 80s and 90s thrash and death metal, and still rock some of that. Mortification, Tourniquet, Deliverance, Sacrament, Vengeance Rising.
More modern stuff I listen to bends toward hardcore/metalcore: Hatebreed, Bury Your Dead, Throwdown, Comeback Kid, Killswitch Engage, Lamb of God, August Burns Red, A Day To Remember (pop punk with metalcore/hardcore mixed in), Impending Doom (deathcore).
I saw Behemoth live, this week but I really dug the opener - At The Gates.
At the Gates vocalist Tomas Lindberg also "sings" with Disfear and Skitsystem--very crusty.
Just started snowing where I am - black metal season has begun

Definitely Agalloch. Along with Nachtmystium, they're the band that turned me on to black metal.
Totalselfhatred and Veldes are some others I've been listening to lately. I just looked Mgla up on the ol' Google tube. I'll have to give it a listen.
Why metal?
For me, it’s the only music that makes sense right now: harsh, epic, angry. It just works.
Tool, Kyuss, Sleep, Meshuggah, Fu Manchu, early Raised Fist.

Mgla - Exercises in futility album has probably been my most played album in the last year

They are coming here next week but not playing anything off their best album- the red in the sky is ours...so I’ll probably pass

What are you listening to?
Just got Immortal’s new album Northern Chaos Gods. Loud, riff-filled , old-school Immortal sound.
Most listened to right now:
Dissection
Mgla
Hypocrisy
Megadeth
Blind Guardian
Ensiferum
Satyricon
Ildra
Moonsorrow

Agalloch is phenomenal, didn't they disband some years ago though?
My normal rotation:
Dark Tranquillity
Insomnium
Wolfheart / Before the Dawn / Dawn of Solace (Tuomas Saukkonen bands)
Trivium
Behemoth
Hanging Garden
Amon Amarth
While She Sleeps
Omnium Gatherum
I like the Before the Dawn records, too, especially Deadlight and Deathstar Rising. Try Be’lakor. Some Aussie melodeath influenced by Insomnium. I like them better than Insomnium, in fact.

They're good! Been listening to them for years.
Leave this here for all the melodic death metal fans:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLV5t3ed9WUI listened to much of that Youtube mix this weekend. A lot of great stuff on there.
Be'lakor's "Of Breath and Bone" while doing yardwork this weekend, inspired by the melodeath talk.

Nice list! Yeah, Agalloch had a very messy break up in May of 2016.

If you like Agalloch, you may like Gallowbraid...even though they only released one album
