I’ve been a tights person forever when it’s 30 or below outside. Just bought some tapered running pants and my life has changed for the better. What’s the point of tights anymore?

Why have pants changed your life for the better? what do i have to look forward to if i switch? can i still wear shorts over them?
I’m with you. Couple of years ago, I’ve switched to tapered pants and that’s what I always wear when it’s cold unless they’re all dirty. That’s the only time I’d be wearing tights.
Tapered pants will make people question your sexuality.
I feel like tapered pants were all the rage about a decade ago. I got a pair and was really excited to use them through the winter. I wore them some, but I always kept coming back to the tights.
Tights are warmer, move with you better, are more comfortable if they get covered in wet rain/ice/snow/etc.. I honestly have no idea why someone would not run in tights.
They're called "joggers" for a reason.
I like to run with a sock or two in the crotch of my tights. I can't do that with tapered pants

I’m not saying you can’t wear tights, I’m just saying tapered pants are pretty sweet. I’m sure I’ll throw on tights when it’s rainy or snowy out or super cold
They are for warming-up, not running. During rain and wind, they are useless, and they restrict movement because they are not that stretchable. You can get injured trying to run in joggers, and they hold sweat, which generates weight.
Noting beats tights, long or short.
use this as a guide ..... would you wear tights to a maximum security prison ? i think not . so don't wear tights outside .
Not that there's anything wrong with that. wrote:

Why wear tapered pants when you can wear tights?

Ever tried to wear shorts under tights? Or take tights off while wearing spikes?

Couple more reasons why I like the pants.
1. I wear compression shorts underneath and I can wear the pants several times prior to washing it. With tights, I don’t like to rewear once I’ve ran with them. So for me, more economical since tights are pricey.
2. I can just my house key in pants pocket. None of my tights have a pocket, and I know I can tie the key on my shoe, but I prefer to just have a pocket to hold my key.

Totally agree with you. I've been been wearing something similar (semi-loose-fitting Pear Izumi bike pants) for a while and love them. They're more comfortable than tights and don't make me feel self-conscious when running slow. (Same reason I don't wear 2" split shorts while running 8min miles.) Contrary to what some other comments said about pants, these don't restrict movement in the least.
Also, if it gets really cold, you can throw on a pair of tights and wear the pants over them.
This is the sort of thing I'm talking about:

Totally agree with you ...
P.S. Having pockets rocks.
I wear pants over tights sometimes. Sometimes I wear just tights. Depends on the rest of my outfit and the temperature/weather.
Can someone clear this up for me. What exactly do you mean by tights, and tapered pants?
Please post an Amazon link to what you think of as standard running tights and also tapered pants. Both men's, full-length.
