oh sorry, still 1:20 off of 52 is still pretty unlikely
95% chance of blowing up is what you have to risk sometimes when you want to PR.....i can tell you all my PRs where done when i went for it, other times when i was conservative and ran close to my PR i would sit back and wonder "man i wonder if i would have gone out faster...i felt so smooth and fluid, i should have gone for it"
again im still curious on OPs splits on his 1:23, and to have him bump this in 2 months time and let us know what he did for training and what he ends up running. i would love to coach but unless i win the lottery that isnt going to be an option.

well if your hitting dead nuts on those times no....but its more like this
25.8/26.2=52, and a 28.1
with what might be 12.3/12.5/12.7/13.5/13.8/14.3

where as doing 49.5 through 400 and trying to go sub 1:20
