This is absolutely ridiculous (and kudos instead to Molly Huddle for not giving into this nonsense).
It's another "Frankenstein shoe" the upper is Saucony, the sole Nike.
I am sure more details photo of the telltale bottom tread will appear.

Americans need to get leaner, we need to get them on whatever Chris Froome is on. Has anyone seen a photo of Chris Froome? That is what a endurance athlete is supposed to look like. If anyone has insights to Chris Froome diet and supplement regimen let me know.

It doesn't have the tail of VF.

Or the front. Fake news.

Agree, doesn't look like the 4%ers at all. It does look like some prototype or mishmashed shoe, but it's probably something Saucony is working on.
And also agree with the other poster, American runners are not that lean. Look at Shorter when he was at the top of his game, that should be our goal.
you jest but with carbon springs you no longer need a BMI less than 22
what extra weight goes down now pops right back up because the trampoline effect never bottoms out
Allie Kieffer and Kinsey Middleton both clearly have proven that recently and more and more men over six feet are OTQ'ing which used to be extremely rare
High carb vegans won't like to hear this, but this is how Froome got lean.https://amp.businessinsider.com/chris-froome-weight-loss-tour-de-france-2016-7

In his Instagram post the day before the race, he posts a picture of the gear he is supposedly wearing, obviously swapping out the Saucony prototype / whatever shoes with a plain old pair of Kinvaras.

Jared Ward is the fastest Mormon marathoner.
His wife is pregnant with their 4th child, so don’t understand what you are saying?
Also regarding a Chris Froome like weight loss - SARMS. Drop weight while maintaining muscle mass. Will be insteresting to see if they (SARMS users) develop cancer later on in life, but may depend on just how much they used and for how long.

Yeah, we all know that those super lean Kenyans eat a low carb diet, moran.
From the countless articles, interviews, and pictures, every brand is playing catch-up to Nike's 4%. It's how innovation works.
When companies build cycling components, UCI says they have to release the components to the public after going to the pros. It let's other brands get some insight into the new products and develop their own further.
This is how we move forward as a sport.

So it's fine to eat high carb to be a world class runner, as long as you limit to starvation rations as you grow up.
OP goes home DEVASTATED.
Froome (and Farah for that matter) have been using drinks that encourage the body to use ketones as an energy source amongst god know some what else. There were rumours Sky didn't want to share hotels and wanted to sleep on team buses to avoid meal times, due to the fact they were living in specially developed drinks.
That shoe in his IG is definitely not made with a Vaporfly lower.
Doesn't look to be the case here, but there are definitely athletes sponsored by other brands racing in VF - kind of old news actually. You gotta even the playing field......
Ward is not the fastest Mormon marathoner. Know your facts before spewing.
