In his defense, the inane crap coming out of jon anderson's mouth didn't exactly help Centro succeed.

John Anderson, the commentator of Wipeout. Just dumb! Time for these events to negotiate that the coverage is done better.
make them sit down and watch any stage of NBC coverage of the Tour de France and they will see how to cover a race
Yes.
...But you still cant overcome the fact road running races are as boring as watching the paint dry.
it was so disappointing not to see maybe the best part of the marathon.
they did not have a camera truck on first American male.
I noticed by tracking in the Bronx that they were on top of each other.
@mile 23, I think it was the top 3 americans in a neat line one stride apart.
Jared Ward was in the lead. They were so tight, they 'appeared' to be working together.
Fauble had an epic chasedown that was just short.
I yelled, "Top American! who wants it?!"
I don't know if there was any jockeying but if there was, that would have been dramatic.
I also told Molly @ mile 23 she was 30s behind Shalane and podium.
Shalane looked good. Keitany was just en fuego.

The LPGA covers the American women who struggle to make the cut , and give curtesy coverage to the superior Korean women. This is good for American viewers.
The only thing more boring than road racing is triathlon ocean swimming ?♀️. There was a great Instagram post noting Allie’s arm size vs Huddle. It’s true Allie’s arms are like 3times bigger.

All the way through almost mile 26 there were 4 us males on top of each other. Derrick, Ward, Fauble and Shadrack. Shadrack had broken free earlier, but was reeled in. Abdi might have been in the mix through mile 21. It wasn’t until the last 2 miles that that group splintered
There was some cursory coverage of Shalane chasing Vivian. Nary a picture of Molly who was only 20 seconds or so back. Molly made up 10-15 seconds on Shalane in the last 2k

During the World Series did they cut from big league coverage to show us some top notch AA minor league action??
I sure would've liked to see me some local boys play on TV instead of just watching the best in the world!
....Thing is, I'm not sure US men even have enough runners to even field a minor league roster in the marathon. .....Maybe Elite hobby jogger roster though.

Horrible analogy. Might work if they were playing on the same field at the same time...idiot

You don't follow track & field then?
is there any way to watch NYC again?
I mean they don't even sell legit DVDs/streaming of the race afterwards do they?

It's probably on demand, check ESPN3.
They missed the pivotal polnts in the women’s race. They showed profiles of people and stats no one cares about How many breaths a runner takes. And an interview of wheelchair racers that they really did not show much at all of the wheelchair racers. They had a stretch there were they had a broadcast of the race where they showed little if the actual race.
The ticker was great once they started using it. They should have done a better job giving mike splits. I like the split screen when they finally started to use it.

No he doesnt... 27'50" track and 61' HM this year. And he is 36-37 i think. Although he clearly underperformed yday
Why didn't ESPN cover the White Sox and Tigers' games this year? Because they suck and nobody cares.

I actually do follow T&F, but I’m American and follow second rate American t&F athletes but not second rate British athletes. Why in heck would NYRR allot more money to a Brit with no recognition than a us athlete? It’s not like London Marathon is out there offering Derrick or Vail or Ward appearance fees
Who's really watching for the Americans early on a Sunday morning? Who would actually care??

Yeah but every golf shot looks the same. A swing and the ball disappears.
Slow running is pretty obvious in a race.
Sounds like there are plenty of fans complaining on here.
For the life of me, I don't know why they don't keep a constant running clock going in the corner somewhere for both the men and women. Then, we I see the runners pass a miler maker, I can quickly calculate their mile pace on my own.
On the plus side - I do appreciate the split screen so we can see both the women and men leaders at once.
On the negative side - too many "human interest" stories about people running a 5 hour marathon to raise money to save the whales, or whatever...
