NOP doping ban coming???
Definitely didn't see this coming. With the addition of Brazier to the group it seemed like NOP had a great balance of runners from 800-5000. Could Salazar be retiring?
Mathew Centrowitz is back?

Andy was his college coach and moving to Washington this makes sense. Matt went back east to be near his dad and that didn't work out. Now maybe with Andy? Career end hoping something can happen that will give him a boost out of his post Olympic slump.
The record will reflect his greatness was all under NOP wether he likes it or not. Maybe as he is nearing retirement he doesn't care as waddles in as a 14 minute 5k runner.
Saw him running around Seattle last week
How is this news to anyone? Matthew left Oregon a long time ago and then announced he was relocating to Seattle earlier this year. This wasn’t even a story that needed to be sniffed out, it was clear a change had taken place. How can there be so little grasp of facts hat should be taken as face value in this sport?
Jeez big news , wonder if he is out because chelimo is in ? Sounds like some friction

Well he was wearing NOP (and Jordan) a couple months ago at the 5th ave mile.
Sam Prakel is training professionally with Andy Powell right now. Perhaps he is being coached by his Dad and Andy and training with Sam?
They still have Kejelcha, Hassan, Brazier, Clayton...
the rich get richer. Centro is way past his prime and Mo has moved off to the roads.
As a very established runner whose career is winding down, why pay a coach and manager fee to nop when his dad is doing that? Max out what you can while still running well.

Until he couldn't keep up and you dropped him like yesterday's newspaper I bet!

NOP runners don't pay Salazar. Nike pays him.

He won bronze at the 2011 world championships before he was in NOP. I’d consider that greatness.

one more reason you shouldn't drink and drive. you might kill a gold medalist.
stop
Wow, really thrown off by this one.
Just recently in a LetsRun interview, he was saying that the reason he left Andy was because he felt Andy was a college coach and didn't have enough time/attention/priority to coach him and travel to training camps/races.
We don't know who will be coaching him yet, but it is probably Andy/Centro Sr.

He ran 3:31.77 last year (a few months ago) his 3rd fastest time ever, I would not call that way past his prime.

I meant last season which ended a few months ago, so he ran his 3rd best time this year.
Here's nothing but a guess: Centro's Nike contract could be expiring at the end of 2018, and he has a big deal with adidas lined up, which might help facilitate Andy Powell's coaching of him (UW will be switching to adidas in summer 2019).
Maybe Salazar agreed that he could be coached by Centro, Sr., as they are old teammates. But when Jr. moved back to the PNW but to Seattle, not to Portland/Beaverton, Salazar would not agree to sharing coaching with Powell. Just maybe.
Maybe it has nothing to do with anything at NOP; maybe he just has been feeling stale, and made a similar move to that of Desi Linden.
