Which Adidas shoe is closest to a Saucony Type A? Is it the Adios? Or is there something a bit more minimalist in the Adidas range?
I love the Type A for a 5K/10K road race but want to see if there is something else I could try this time around

The adidas Takumi Sen is adidas' best racing flat, especially for shorter distances. Longer than 15k, the takumi ren is a good choice. Trouble is they've stopped selling the takumi series in the US, so they can be tricky to get ahold of. As a forefoot striker, I can't handle the adios, plus they are heavier by a couple ounces than the takumis. Takumi sen are light and responsive and have more forefoot cushioning.

yep same here the takumi series is an example of the awesomeness of the japanese market but also the ignorance of shoe reps. I have tried the New Balance 1400v6 and it feels like a good transition definitely not like it has 10mm drop but that clearly has advantages as evidenced by kipchoge and nike 4% project.
What is your trainer? I used to regard drops as absolutes but I believe they're more dynamic example being Solar Glide having a soft heel and firm forefoot like 1400 not feeling like the ramp that you'd feel in a Ghost and Mizuno
Adios for sure
Takumi Sen is great for 5-10km. Last I looked, you can still buy them through Amazon (expensive though).
Maybe try the Adizero RC? The Adios is quite different from the Type A. If I had the cash, I’d probably shell out for the Takumis, but the RCs look like a decent cheaper alternative.
Closest to the type a (but better) is the Adidas sub 2, currently on clearance at running warehouse so it's a normal shoe price is of way over priced.
