Also, a great podcast from a couple days ago. I seriously love that girl. http://citiusmag.com/allie-kieffer-citius-mag-podcast/
Really a good, candid interview. I'm now a fan for sure.
Hilarious that she admits to reading Letsrun (sounds like daily). She even had some reference to specific comments, as well at least one indirect reference earlier in the interview about her relationship with Hudson being platonic.
She says she is not being tested OOC, and maybe is a bit upset about that. I have to agree...if a shooting star like her isn't tested by USADA, what are people like Kiptum poentially getting away with in an even more lax system?
Right? I also loved where she spoke about watching race tapes and race strategy - the calculation of when its worth it to go with the leaders or stick with her own pace and watching the people behind the leaders. Tons of nuggets in that interview.
And yeah, funny about the platonic Hudson thing. Also have to chuckle thinking about her Mom getting a Google alert for this thread...a bit of positivity for a change. She's a good egg all the way.
If she does read this, I’d like to compliment her on her nice kaboose.
Umm... I wonder if she would like to rethink her answer to the "if you could go on a run with any person in history?" question (1:01:00 mark of the podcast). I found it pretty shocking/alarming, especially in light of what just happened yesterday in Pittsburgh.
A top american runner in 2018 claims that if she could run with anyone in the world she would choose Hitler-- yes Hitler-- and it isn't immediately met with a WTF reaction... wow just wow.
I've always hated scrawny male stick runners, too Allie. They get in good shape quick, but they get injured a lot.

I didn’t listen to the podcast, but that’s terrible.

Me neither. She just lost a fan.
Hitler??? And she was serious??? Not funny at all Allie, even if she wasn't trying to be. Yes, you positively read these comments Allie, what a terrible choice of someone to want to go on a run with! Can't believe you said that. Hitler was horrible, pure hatred and you want to go on a run with him to get into his mind? Bean brain!
Given her interest in aberrant psychology, it's probably why she comes to this site: dozens of little frustrated Hitler-like incels constantly ranting over stupid minutiae and spewing conspiracy theories.
outta here on Allie! wrote:

I hope she was trying to make a joke, although even that would be in horrible taste. I feel like Kieffer was a positive role model for female distance runners, but she really ruined it with that statement.
Great interview. Love the Kenyan part especially, where she talks about how her running friends in Boulder wouldn't come up to altitude and hills to train with her on a day before a hard workout. She was like "That's not how we did it in Kenya," which is everyone's attitude when they come back from some life-changing experience abroad. She meant that while Kenyans start off easy at 9-min/10-min pace they put in the work every day and are not necessarily saving themselves for the two hard workouts of the week.
This was obviously recorded before the shooting in Pittsburgh. I think she was just saying she couldn't even comprehend someone like Hitler so she'd be curious about delving into his psychology. Historians study him, you know. It's not out of emulation.
You guys want someone to be not boring and canned like Rupp and then someone gives an off-kilter answer and you want it checked or sanitized.
So many historians and psychologists study hitler and the events that allowed him to come into power (none of it is dissimilar to what is going on in our own country at the moment). Allie touched on her interest in history and psychology, so the answer isn’t that far out of left field. She had a reason for it...she wasn’t just like “yeah lol hitler...what a rascal. I’d sure like to go for a run with him.”

How distasteful. Shocked someone with her platform would think this is a good idea even for a joke. Idiot.
So she is saying her teammates in Boulder like Stinson only train hard 2 days a week? They live at altitude already which is plenty a stimulus. Sounds like a condescending comment coming from a bad teammate.
She wasn't being condescending, just noting how it's a different emphasis. The whole interview has a pretty lighthearted tone.

It is obvious that she said that as she is interested in learning more about him.
In particular all of that hate he carries. If one could learn to harness that much hate for running, breaking 2 for a marathon would be a cake walk.
All the sad little trolls taking time from their busy day to pile in on this thread are like lobotomized rats returning to the reward pedal in order to get their tiny dose of stimulating strychnine; predictable yet instructive.
Allie will have many new fans when she runs NYCM, thanks to this thread and the trolls who will keep it afloat.
