Look, I'm completely aware that some runners lose their track speed after age 40, and some of them think a 26 mile race is all they can still do at the elite level.
But, people like bekele and Galen Rupp, I honestly think they never wanted to run the marathon. They wanted to stay on the track. They only started marathoning because of what society says they should now be doing st this stage of their professional career.
Honestly, i don't give a darn what society expects. If I wanted to stay on the track for the rest of my career, then that's what I'm going to do. Bekele and Rupp caved into social pressures of society and overbearing dictator coaches.
