Jos Hermens gave him at least two bottles from the bag he had with him as he rode on the back of the motorbike. There were at least two guys on bicycles next to the lead pack with JURY on the back of their shirt/bib - therefore KB should have been DQ'd for talking the bottles from Hermens. And at one point KB was pointing at Hermens and telling him to give him the bottle
Maybe that's what happened. He was DQ'd and he stopped.
definitely inconsistent since 2009 with as you said, a handful of great moments thrown in.
I do think he'll keep going until 2020 for last chance of Olympic glory
Maybe as a sumo wrestler.

haha...seriously though, I'm sure he wasn't in great shape for this race but didn't too overweight to me compared with pics in his prime

That's an interesting remark. Many people consider everyone at the top dopes, or every East African, or everyone not from one's own country, or the people they don't like for no specific reason... But if Kenenisa doped, why would he not take something to lose fat, if he was indeed overweight? It's difficult to be certain about anything, but having a bad day now and then and putting on some weight at times looks like what happens to a non-doper. That's a glitter of hope in this rotten world of sports. Imagine if the best runner ever was actually clean.

He might have been off the juice for a couple of years, but that doesn't mean he didn't do it.
C'mon, he's from the heyday of EPO and at the top of the game at that point, and you tell me there's a glitter of hope he's clean?
Come back to reality.
I understand your suspicion about the early noughties. But if he doped then, why not continue to do so now? If the remarks about his weight are correct, my understanding it that several PEDs will make you shed weight, training or no training.
Maybe it was just those half-tights. But he did look a bit bigger than I'm used to seeing him..
I think he could loose a few kg.
Maybe he is still on the 90s drugs. The cyclists from the 90s who were loaded up on EPO were not as lean as the cyclists today who are stripping weight but still retaining power. Is it just diet or is there something else?
Reminds me of 2002 when Geb ran within a minute of the marathon world record drinking only water during the race (with no other intake).
Just another bizarre twist to Kenny's day thanks to Jos. wrote:
Did Kenny accept one of those drinks Hermens was offering him?, if he did he would have been disqualified anyway, seem to remember reading somewhere that drinks, gels, etc taken along the way form other than the official stations was not allowed. You'd think Hermens would've known this.
Remember he was allowed to do it with Gebreslassie back in the day, but not allowed now.
Apparently, you can take corticosteroids and claim you have had a local injection to treat a muscle injury to justify a positive test. Thyroid hormones are still not banned. And that's just what the layman can read about in the news.

That must have been first time I’ve ever seen him wear them
He seemed very uncomfortable with them, to be fair. He kept tagging at them the entire race. I think Jos made him wear them because they seem to work for Kipchoge.
Ha ha h aha ha!
By the way, I found Bekele to be a bit 'heavy' which means fat.
He seemed overweight and a bit chubby/ bulky to me.

Maybe Bekele has an enough of an ego that his place and time would have been an unacceptable humiliation for him. Kind of a "no mas".
Reading this, you just know that he is a Nike athlete.
No heart.
Maybe he is taking notes from Mr DNF himself, Galen Rupp.
By Mr. DNF, you mean: Did Not Forget to collect that hefty $300,000 salary that you wish you could make.

Rofl, you're right.
Wrong, "inarticulation" refers to speech, which makes you and Sprintgeezer idiots.
Ha!
Bekele as I told you two months ago, just got his last paycheck.

Duck under the ropes, walk back to the hotel room.
Your running was massively fueled by PED’s.
Oh well.

Does this guy reek of dirty or what? I think he realizes we all know he's dirty but doesn't give a sh1t anyway.
I know. Those 90s cyclist were so heavy.
