I have heard of a workout, named "Even Steven" by McMillan in his training programs.
It goes like this:
10' @marathon pace, 2' easy, 8'@hm pace, 4' easy, 6' @10k pace, 6' easy, 4' @5k pace, 8' easy, 2' @3k pace. Total 50min of running, 30 at faster paces.
The workout seems interesting, however I am wondering if it is effective and beneficial to work on variety of paces in one workout. Have anyone tried such (or similar) workout and had any success with it?
Or is it better to stick to standard intervals and fartleks?
