Hopeful future College runner wrote:
I'm a senior in college who is hoping to run in college. I'm interested in Pomona college and have been talking to Jordan Carpenter about running for the Pomona-Pitzer. So far, coach carpenter seems like a pretty awesome coach and the team seems pretty cool as well, I just wanted to know if anyone hear had anything to say about them and what it's like.
I ran with the team when I was in grad school and it took me from a complete neophyte to a 2:30s marathoner. They had a very good team ethic, were serious but also knew how to have fun. Everything that I have heard since is consistent with that still being the case. Pomona is pretty difficult to get in to (about like Harvard now, maybe) while Pitzer is easier but has been systematically getting better over time, and the five college system works pretty well. And, is a very pleasant place to be (I am considering moving back after we retire and move). [I presume that you are actually a senior in high school ;>) ]
