So I have been running all year and am in excellent physical shape. 50 days ago I had to quit 50k race due to knee pain (ITBS). Since then I have NOT been running but been in group fitness classes in gym 10hrs a week. Doing stuff ranging from Yoga to Pilates to Kickpower type of stuff.
Oct 2 I ran for the first time since injury and did a 14km run. Zero ITBS issue but slight medial knee tiredness type of pain. I had this for couple of weeks prior to the 14km run.
I decided to get my knee checked out at a sports specialist clinic just to be safe. After a thorough physical examination and ultrasound check the doc said my knee has no problem and ligaments/tendons are all good. I signed up for a half marathon which is on 20th October.
So in last 50 days I have run 1 x14km (2 weeks ago). Today is 16th, should I turn up on 20th for the half marathon just like that or shall I fit in one 15km easy run today, 4 days before the event?
