Anybody else out there in Letsrun world doing this race?
Anybody done it before? Anything to look out for?
I hear that it is the ultimate in hobbyjogging festivals. Any truth?

Ran it in 2001. Pretty flat course, but there is a climb into UA up to mile 21. Then it's slightly downhill the rest of the way. I don't remember any corrals. I started near the front (3rd or 4th row) by simply walking up there. I think my gun/chip time was off by like 2 seconds. Not an overly fast field, but I had plenty of people around me most of the way, but it wasn't too crowded. I ran 2:50 and place like 50th.
I haven't run Columbus but I have run disney and have a hard time believing that ANYTHING is more of a hobby jogger festival.
I did it 3 times , the last being 2014. There are significantly more half marathoners than marathoners, so after half way you will be largely alone.
There isn't much else to say, it's a 100% city course, nothing too difficult terrain wise. As for the city, it's fine too. I live in Columbus and work downtown as a matter of fact. I don't think there is any particular place that is a "must see" or restaurant that is a "must eat at", so if you're looking for cultural enrichment, it won't be here :D

+1
What years did you run? It looks like the last 10 years or so have seen a decline in quality times.
This will be the first time since 2014 I'm not doing either the half or full, but all I can say is that it's a great event. The course is very easy, save for a gradual climb from 17-19ish. Back half of the course is easy to relax in since the crowd support can lull. The first half marathon could probably have some elite guys break 60 on if they got real elites instead of the couple of Kenyans to come and run 63min on. Weather can be unpredictable, but this year looks nice. Lots of money raised for a good cause too.
I'm running the full, and I've done the half before. This race can get crowded so don't be shy about being in the front of the corral.

Walking down High Street by Ohio State on a Friday or Saturday night is a must. Great for people watching

Too bad the football team isn't playing at home this weekend. I could go down High Street and shotgun a few Budweisers. Carb up!

My wife will be along. I'm not able to seek out "cultural enrichment "..
