Currently a junior in high school and aware that my xc/track times are not exactly D1 worthy. Personally, running competitively is not the most important thing to me in my college choice process but if possible, it would be an added bonus to be able to continue my career. My sophomore year, I significantly dropped my times (5:27 in freshman year to a 4:49 for the 1600) and this is most likely because of the high mileage I was doing. This year, I am currently doing roughly the same mileage but my xc season has been disappointing. I was looking for any tips to bounce back from this slump in order to drop my times even more and have a higher chance of being able to run at one of the schools that I’m interested in.
