All intelligent people know this.
You cannot brag about anything on a message board. That is a no no no no.
It will always be,
I'm tall, dark and handsome.
Everyone....bullsxzu.
I'm short, fat and stupid.
Everyone....yep, nailed it.
Human nature,
Those blessed with intelligence don't come off as pretentious because they don't concern themselves with impressing others. In fact, the truly gifted are often quite funny, charming and engaging. They find areas of mutual interest and develop quick rapport with others.

Ok, then nobody here has an ounce of intelligence.

Hey, I resemble that remark!
But the OP pretty well announced his/her trollage right from the start, by using "whence" (which means "from where") rather than "whilst"; and by saying "thou is" rather than "thou art."
It's all just for mild amusement, in other words. I give the OP 4/10--would have been rated a bit lower, but it engendered a little discussion.
You only come off as pretentious when you think you're smarter than everyone else and don't realize that you aren't.

Start by looking up the definition of "whence", you mis-used it.
So he's a dual threat. He's ignorant and pretentious.
In other words: OP, if you stick to posting about running, you'll fit right in.
That's a long post for someone supposedly smart
Truly intelligent people don't spend all day thinking about how superior they are. They have better things to do.
Real intelligence is a slave to creation. Intelligence wants to create. It wants to contribute.
It is the beasts who posture and piss on their homes
Nice followup, but you sound even more pretentious than in your original post. Try to keep your username straight.
I couldn't get past the misuse of "whence thou is" in the subject line. I'm glad a couple of other readers picked up on that. I'm by no means an old English scholar, but: "whence" is kind of a like a synonym for "from where" "thou" is second person singular form of "you" -- referring, not to the OP, but directed at some familiar acquaintance of the OP, as the smart one "thou is" combines a second person pronoun with the third person conjugation of "to be" It sounds pretentious to those who don't understand old English. It sounds pretend to those who do.

Not to mention, combining the indefinite pronoun "one" with "thou" also seems rather awkward -- it could make sense if the OP was asking a friend, "how do you manage to not come off as pretentious, with you being so much smarter than everyone", but then the actual post makes it clear that is not the intended meaning.
Just the same, if the post was meant as a parody, and there is much to appreciate in it.
Not related, but the mis-use of "whence" reminds me Juliet pondering "wherefore art thou Romeo".
